Kaitz (Kai) Brebner

Writing as a Door for the Soul

Kai’s interview will be available below at 9 am Pacific time on July 11th

Kaitz Brebner is a filmmaker, writer, and consciousness-writing workshop facilitator whose work explores the intersection of media, self-inquiry, and spiritual transformation. After nearly two decades in Israeli journalism - writing for “Mako”, “Rosh 1”, “NRG” and serving as culture editor at “Maariv” - Kaitz shifted his focus from covering the external world to documenting the inner one.

Following an intense career as a journalist, during which he interviewed global icons like Mariah Carey and Tori Spelling and covered international events such as the Eurovision Song Contest, Brebner chose to embark on a journey inward - toward healing, consciousness, and creative truth.

His films are bold and boundary-pushing, weaving personal truth with artistic innovation. Cactus, Love, Mountains follows a psychedelic pilgrimage with the San Pedro cactus in the Andes, while Guilt’s Orgasm is an AI-animated gothic tale that transforms raw emotion into mythic form. His new series, Between Matter and Spirit, dives into unconventional spiritual practices and the search for meaning in a post-material world.

Kaitz also facilitates retreats and workshops where writing becomes a tool for self-discovery and emotional healing. In spaces like Words Under the Tree and Creative Lab, he guides participants to engage with consciousness through narrative, offering a unique fusion of therapeutic writing, spiritual psychology, and creative exploration.

His debut book, This Specific Moment in Eternity, is a lyrical and uncompromising account of awakening, weaving together essays, personal stories, and sharp insights into the nature of self, love, and transformation.

Living close to nature, Kaitz continues to create from the meeting point between reflection and rebellion - a voice shaped by the media world, yet devoted to uncovering deeper truths within and beyond it.
